On behalf of everyone at WSPA we would like to thank the thousands of people who helped us reach our $500k target for the Bricks for Bears campaign. What an amazing achievement for the bears in Pakistan.
In October 2010 the first stage of the new Balkasar Sanctuary was officially opened. Since then, thanks to the fantastic support of our Bricks for Bears campaign, we have been able to finish the sanctuary and rescue 10 new bears from the horrific blood-sport of bear baiting. These bears are now safe and happy in their new home, learning to be bears once again thanks to you.
This wouldn’t have been possible without your support, so we wanted to share an amazing video with you, which highlights some of the real Bear success stories that you have helped achieve! Click here.
In the video you will hear from WSPA Ambassador, Nick Maxwell, captain of the Collingwood AFL Football Club, who has been passionately driving the Bricks for Bears campaign right from the start. You will also learn more about the rescued bears and how they are enjoying life in the new sanctuary, from our Wild Life Vet, Jan Burbach-Schmidt, who works closely with the bears in Pakistan. Click here to watch.
Please enjoy this lovely video, and on behalf of all the bears of Pakistan, a sincere thank you from all of us here at WSPA for your support of our Bricks for Bears campaign.
